Exploring Lloyd EcoDistrict

Google view of Lloyd neighborhood in Portland Oregon

AVENUE is centrally located in northeast Portland, Oregon, on the east side of the Willamette River within the Lloyd Event District and neighborhood. We are across the street from the Oregon Convention Center and a half a mile from Moda Center. We are also proud to be in Oregon’s first certified EcoDistrict, a testament to Lloyd’s commitment to sustainable and equitable development.

Lloyd EcoDistrict: A Model of Sustainable Urban Living

The Lloyd neighborhood, a Just Growth-certified EcoDistrict, represents a formal commitment to sustainable urban development. This international certification, similar to LEED for buildings that originated here in Portland, marks Lloyd as a leader in promoting restorative and just development practices. As a dedicated nonprofit stewarding meaningful change, Lloyd EcoDistrict has mobilized the neighborhood in supporting community connections and sustainable approaches, such as:

  • Broadway in Bloom & Zero Waste Block Party: This event transformed a traditional block party into a sustainable one with a 97% return rate on reusable service ware and nearly zero single-use plastics.
  • Duckworth Summer Wednesdays: Promoting the Willamette River through car-free, water-centric events and building a community of river advocates.
  • LAMP & CHAMP Programming: By collaborating on LED retrofits and EV charging installations, Lloyd EcoDistrict has reduced more than 900 tons of carbon emissions annually in Portland.

AVENUE: A Venue Aligned with EcoDistrict Values

AVENUE stands out in this eco-conscious landscape by integrating sustainable practices in its operations:

  • High-End AV Technology: Our premier audiovisual system utilizes projection mapping and advanced digital technology, reducing the need for expensive and wasteful single-use displays and décor.
  • Eco-Friendly Materials: Our event space features carpet made from recycled fibers, moss art for air filtration, and curtains crafted from 1,440 recycled plastic bottles.
  • Dedication to Nonprofits Organizations: With a dedication to supporting nonprofit fundraising events, AVENUE brings the community together around vital causes and meaningful commitment to a holistically healthier Portland.

Being part of a certified EcoDistrict means more than just an environmental commitment. It’s about being part of a community that values equitable and sustainable growth. Lloyd EcoDistrict’s certification as part of the Just Growth initiative underlines this commitment.

Just Growth Circle: As part of this collaborative network, Lloyd EcoDistrict joins a diverse group of stakeholders dedicated to equitable development, reflecting shared values of sustainability and community inclusiveness.

AVENUE is not just a space to rent. It’s an example of what businesses can achieve regarding sustainability and community connection, especially in partnership with a certified EcoDistrict. By choosing AVENUE for your events, you and your guests experience advanced event technology and contribute to a larger vision of a sustainable and equitable future.
